Sara Duterte officially announces 2028 presidential run: full statement and platform

On Wednesday, February 18, Vice President Sara Duterte formally announced her candidacy for the 2028 presidential election.
"Mga kababayan, ibalik natin ang tapang at malasakit para sa Diyos, sa bayan, at para sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino. Ako si Sara Duterte. Tatakbo bilang pangulo ng Pilipinas," she said during a press conference.
During the briefing, Duterte also expressed her apologies to the Filipino people for past actions. She acknowledged her involvement in supporting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s presidential campaign and expressed regret over institutional abuses and the widespread corruption that she said has left many Filipinos suffering from floods and other crises.
