Foreign spouses of Filipino and their children will be permitted to enter the country starting December 7, said MalacaƱang on Friday.
"Also permitted is the entry of former Filipino citizens, including their spouses and children, regardless of age, who are traveling with them," presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.
According to Roque, they are allowed to enter the Philippines provided that they have a pre-booked quarantine facility and swab test scheduled at the airport.
"They, too, must be subject to the maximum capacity of inbound passengers at the port and date of entry," Roque said.
Furthermore, Roque said that the Bureau of Immigration and Department of Tourism has been directed by the IATF to form needed guidelines regarding the new implementation.
The IATF said in a statement that the "foregoing is without prejudice to immigration laws, rules and regulations such that the Commissioner of Immigration shall have the exclusive prerogative to decide on waiver or recall of exclusion orders for the above foreign nationals, including other foreign nationals who have entered the Philippines by virtue of Inter-Agency Task Force resolutions."
Meanwhile, the MalacaƱang directed the Department of Tourism to create guidelines on providing lodging to returning spouses and children of Filipinos.
Earlier, the government announced that foreign spouses, minor children, including children with special needs, regardless of age, of Filipino nationals, as well as foreign parents of minor Filipino nationals, including children with special needs, regardless of age can enter the Philippines.
Also, credited foreign government and international organization officials and their dependents, as well as foreign spouses and children of Filipinos are also allowed to enter the country.
