PCSO, DILG to hold PLB summit

The smooth implementation of PCSO Loterya ng Bayan, a new lottery game designed by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and the Department of the Interior and Local Government, designed to eradicate jueteng and other illegal numbers game will be the topic of the summit that PCSO and DILG is planning to hold.
"The summit aims to put up safety measures to prevent gambling lords from using the new game as front for their jueteng operations," PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II stated.
According to Rojas, at least 230 gaming firms have filed application to operate the newly launched lottery game in certain localities.
"The PCSO is currently screening the PBL applicants to make sure that only companies that complied with the requirements will be allowed to operate the Loterya ng Bayan," Rojas added.
The PCSO anticipates to generate about P10 billion per year from PLB. Certain percentage from the proceeds of the new lottery game will go the local governments and congressional districts under the PCSO guidelines.
