The brain is the most important part of our body. It controls everything — our sense of sight, hearing, touch, taste, flexibility, emotions, etc. God created our brain because he wants to give us knowledge and understanding. If our brain gets damaged, we can turn into a withered veggie or simply, a corpse.
And there are habits we do that can actually pose risk to our brains.
Here are just five of these brain-degenerating habits:
Skipping Breakfast
We are all told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and surely it is. Listed as the number one brain damaging habit, skipping breakfast places you in a reduced mental capacity to make healthy food choices throughout the day.
Skipping the first meal of the day also results in lowering of the blood sugar level which leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.
Overeating
Overeating may not just increase your risk of heart disease, diabetes or cancer- it may also cause damage on your brain.
A United States neuro-scientist has found evidence that the risk of developing brain disorders such as Parkinson's disease could be reduced by simply eating less.
Talking rarely
Participate in conversations that can help in promoting your brain to be alert and efficient, training it to work can help in its development. Open your mind, share your thoughts to people and listen to them in return.
Smoking
Smoking is a hard habit to break because tobacco contains nicotine, which is highly addictive. Like heroin or other addictive drugs, the body and mind quickly become so used to the nicotine in cigarettes that a person needs to have it just to feel normal.
Furthermore, smoking not only harms the lungs, but the brain as well. It causes multiple brain shrinkage and it may lead to Alzheimer disease.
Sleep deprivation
Modernization has its pros and cons and at such time, it will be too late till the present generation realizes how badly they are affected, suffering from the sleep disorder known to many as insomnia. Teenagers tend to be addicted to the online world and the fantasy it offers. Sleep allows our brain to rest.
