San Pablo City launches 'God Bless our Cops' support group for spiritual guidance

SAN PABLO, Laguna — Around 72 police officers and 50 evangelical pastors comprising the city's United Pastoral Council converged on Friday at the city police station for the launching of the "God Bless Our Cops" support group.
San Pablo City police force officer-in-charge Superintendent Ronan R. Claravall led the spiritual enrichment event in cooperation with the San Pablo City government and the UPC.
"God Bless Our Cops" is a program implemented for the city police officers and personnel as part of the spiritual and moral recovery program.
The support groups aim "to divert their lives into positive way of living that begins at home with their respective families and radiates to the community through well-meaning and purposive public service.
Calabarzon Police Regional Director Chief Superintendent Ma. O R Aplasca told the 122 support group members of police officers and the religious sector leaders that "it is always the family whom we have to start our better way of life."
Aplasca inspired police officials that the spiritual nurture of their respective families in their abodes would set a good example to the community and to the public.
This translates to building a good image of the Philippine National Police as they develop their spiritual well-being including their family members, said Aplasca.
City Councilor Arnel Ticzon also stressed the mark of a God-centered and community-oriented public service through values formation and ethical standards among government workers.
Also gracing the launching event were Laguna Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. Cecilio Ramos Ison Jr., Senior Supt. Restituto P. Gatera and Supt. Elmar B. Sillador, officer-in-charge of the Regional Police Community Relations Division and Dr. Philip C. Flores, president of the United Pastoral Council. (PNA)
