PDEA seizes PhP1.8M worth of shabu from 6 suspects in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN DE ORO — Operatives of the Philippine Drug and Enforcement Authority (PDEA) seized P1.8 million worth of alleged methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and collared six suspects, including a woman, during a drug buy bust operation here, an official said Monday.
Adrian G. Alvarino, PDEA Northern Mindanao director, said the operatives seized eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing at least 214 grams.
He said that the buy bust operation was conducted at a lodging house in Yacapin Extension here last Sunday.
Alvarino identified the suspects as Zubair G. Pampa, 20, the alleged drug den maintainer, Mohaimen G. Pampa, 18, Najola Cagampang Minalang, 18, Khaleem Pandatan Macatangcop, 18, all from Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur, and Jaffar Lazim Naga, 19, and Mirafin Jun Sabado Libot, 21, female, both from Cagayan De Oro City.
Alvarino said that the suspects have been under surveillance after the lodging house owner reported that they have been staying there for the past 20 days.
He said that the suspects were reportedly students and there were suspicions that they were supplying some drug dependents within the university belt here.
Alvarino said that the PDEA is still conducting a thorough investigation of the suspects, who will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
