Visayas names nominees for 2017 'Gawad Parangal'

SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique — The Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Incorporated (ALSWDOPI) has finished its evaluation of nominees from the Visayas for the 2017 Gawad Parangal award.
Lazaro G. Petinglay, ALSWDOPI executive vice president, said the search committee for the Visayas conducted their evaluation of the nominees for Outstanding Local Chief Executive and Outstanding Local Social Welfare and Development Officer in Iloilo on Thursday.
There were only two nominees for the Visayas - Badiangan Mayor Serafin S. Villa Jr. for Outstanding Local Chief Executive (LCE) and Lambunao Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Imelda Lopez for Outstanding Local Social Welfare and Development Officer, he said.
The search committee for the Visayas is chaired by Janet Alonday, MSWDO of Balasan, Iloilo with Agnes Solania, MSWDO of Talisay, Cebu, as the regional convenor. Antique provincial social welfare and development officers Dr. Neneth Pador and Petinglay were also part of the search committee.
The awarding will be on April 26 during the ALSWDOPI National Convention at SMX Convention Center in Davao City. (PNA)
