ANGELES, Pampanga — The city government of Angeles will install 63 additional analytic closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) to ensure the security and safety of the residents and tourists here.
City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said there will also be a command center for the CCTVs to monitor all the streets of the city which will be launched by March this year.
Pamintuan also promised thorough internal cleansing of the police officers in the city and incarceration of the scalawags.
It can recalled that some policemen from the Angeles City Police Office Station 5 in Barangay Cuayan in this city, where the so-called "Korean Village" is located, were implicated in the illegal detention, extortion and robbery committed against three Korean nationals last December 30.
It was also in the same area where Korean businessman Jee Ick-joo was abducted and killed by a police team allegedly led by SPO3 Ricky Sta. Isabel of the PNP Anti Illegal Drugs Group in a "tokhang for ransom" operation. (PNA)
