Metro Manila Youth show support for RH bill

Young people from various youth organizations in Metro Manila show support for the Reproductive Health bill during the forum held at the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Law.

The event was graced by two of the sponsors of the RH bill Senators Miriam Defensor Santiago and Pia Cayetano and was attended by students from the University of the Philippines, San Beda College, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Ateneo de Manila University, Our Lady of Fatima University, Miriam College, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Far Eastern University, Centro Escolar University, Messiah College, San Sebastian-Recoletos, Trinity University of Asia, Arellano University, and Technological Institute of the Philippines.

Santiago said, "The bill simply gives women, specially the poorest of the poor, the freedom of informed choice. It merely teaches her about the various family planning methods. It does not compel her to adopt any particular method."

However, Santiago and Cayetano deeply hopes that the passage of the bill pushes through before the intended duration of deliberation of the bill expires this December. — ARA
