4.9 magnitude earthquake strikes Batanes

Phivolcs' earthquake map
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake hit the Batanes group of islands early Monday morning.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake occurred about 12:15 a.m. at a depth of 39 kilometers with epicenter at 147 km northwest of Basco, Batanes.
It also said that the quake was of tectonic in origin.
There have been no reports of damages and casualties and no tsunami warnings have been issued after the quake.
