Due to the increasing number of dengue cases nationwide, the provincial government of Pangasinan is exerting efforts to control the spread of the virus.
Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino Jr. visited the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos to launch response mechanisms in order to control the spread of dengue.
Provincial Health officer Ana de Guzman said that part of the mechanisms is a massive information drive at the barangays and the market areas.
Espino assured the public that there is enough supply of medicines in all provincial government hospitals.
"Pangasinan government hospitals are now more equipped, more prepared, and more competent to respond to dengue," Espino said.
He also said that blood-letting activities are being spearheaded by the Liga ng mga Barangay and the Philippine Red Cross. This will ensure that there will be enough supply of blood for the dengue victims.
De Guzman on the other hand reported that the fatality ratio this year is down to 0.9 percent from last year's 1.38 percent. — ARA
