Bahrain invites Azkals for friendly match

The Philippine Azkals team is now being recognized by other countries like Bahrain.

The Azkals are scheduled to fly to Bahrain in the middle of July for some friendly match against the Bahrain team.

In spite of the invitation, Azkals manager Dan Palami said, "Make no mistake about it, we are still focused on Sri Lanka."

Palami added that they are happy to know that they were invited to have a match on other countries.

"We must treat the Sri Lanka the same way as before like we were underdogs," he stressed.

The Bahrain Football Association also said that they know how popular the Azkals are in the Philippines, and they understand that interest in the game of soccer is growing rapidly because of the Philippine team, according to Gulf Daily.

The team was also invited to Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia to have friendly matches. However, due to the busy schedule of the Azkals, those invitations are still hanging.

The Azkals tied the score against Sri Lanka in their first match Wednesday. The second game is scheduled on July 2, Saturday, at Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila. — ARA
