The United States Supreme Court stated Monday that they will begin studying the Indecency Law on Broadcast Television which will include issues of showing naked parts of the body and utterance of vulgar words during live programs.
The step is taken after an infamous naked buttocks shot was shown in ABC's NYPD Blue in 2003, and instances of mentioning the "F-word" during two live broadcasts of the Billboard Music Awards.
Based on the definition of Indecency set by the Federal Communications Commission, the US Court finds the show's concept as indecent, leading them to a decision of prohibiting the programs from airing.
The commission defines Indecency as an object that portray or depict sexual or excretory organs or activities.
Hearing of the case is scheduled this Fall (September) and final decision is expected by 2012.
Meanwhile, the Highest Court implemented a law that forbids the selling of violent video games to minors across the state of California. — ARA
