"Egay" maintains strength

In its latest severe weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has indicated that tropical depression "Egay" has maintained its strength and direction as it threatens the Cagayan area.
As of 10 a.m., "Egay" has been estimated to be 170 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora, or 230 km Southeast of Aparri, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kph near the center. It is moving northwest at 17 kph.
Poblic storm warning signal number one is still raised in Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Isabela, Cagayan, Calayan, Babuyan Group of Islands, Batanes Group of Islands, Kalinga, Abra, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.
Elsewhere, public storm warning signals have been lowered.
Pagasa estimates that by Monday morning, "Egay" would be 130 km Northwest of Aparri, Cagayan or 120 km North of Laoag. — DBL
