Romero urges inter-collegiate event for shooting

Mikee Romero, the newly-elected president of the Philippine National Shooting Association have plans of having an inter-collegiate event this September with an aim to encourage officials of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines and the National Collegiate Athletic Association to include shooting in the game roster.

The PNSA, was planning to do an invitational competition where professional shooters from other countries will be invited in order to persuade the youth to take up the said sport.

They will take in as many schools as they could so they can encourage the youth to get on the sport.

Romero believes that the plan will lead to the discovery of future Olympians.

Awarded shooter Tac Padilla was also a supporter of the PNSA and Romero's advocacy to bring up shooting spots for several universities and colleges, wishing to discover new talent.

"We will do the clinics during weekends so it won't disrupt the studies of the students," Padilla said.

Padilla stated that for anyone who wanted to make an impression with the PNSA leaders, they will have a chance to train in the national shooting range at Fort Bonifacio.
