The former President Ferdinand Marcos' family is in favor with the recommendation of Vice President Jejomar Binay to give the late president full military service burial.
Ilocos Norte Representative and widow of Marcos, Imelda Marcos, said that it is fine with her if her husband will be buried in Ilocos Norte.
"Batac is the official residence. We will follow the divine plan, I have always followed the divine plan. We will make the final decision. (That decision) will depend on what the heavens say," said Rep. Marcos when was asked if Batac is included in the choices of Marcos' resting place.
She stressed "We are not sure whether all the heroes (at the Libingan ng mga Bayani) will go to heaven."
The Department of National Defense and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, however, are prepared to follow the President's decision regarding the full military honors at the burial of former President Marcos.
Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, in addition, stated that they will implement what will be ordered of them, that is definite.
Marcos implemented the martial law in 1972 and dictated the country where a lot of activists were killed during his term. — ARA
