O'Neal tweets about retiring

Shaquille O'Neal announced his retirement on his Tweeter account Wednesday after 19 years in the NBA.

"i'm retiring." said O'Neal in his tweet and included a link to a video of him saying "We did it; 19 years, baby. Thank you very much. That's why I'm telling you first: I'm about to retire. Love you. Talk to you soon."

O'Neal, 39, had a leg injury during latter part of his career including failed stints to help bring titles to Phoenix, Cleveland and this season in Boston.

Heat President Pat Riley, who coached O'Neal in Miami, said that he was little bit sad on Shaq's retirement but he was sure that he will do something beyond his career.

LeBron James, the current Miami star who played alongside O'Neal in Cleveland, appreciated O'Neal on and off the court.

"What a career for Shaq Diesel!!" James posted on his Twitter account.

O'Neal, a 15-time NBA All-Star, ranks fifth on the all-time NBA scoring list with 28,596 points and his three NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Awards in line only with Michael Jordan on the all-time list.
