The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in Iloilo issued Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) cards to 9,186 recipients, exceeding their original target of 8,136.
The Phil Health cards were given by district officials handled by Philippine Health Insurance Corporation to benefit registered citizens particularly, the Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Service Point Officers and Day Care Workers.
Meanwhile, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor donated PhP 20 million more to fund their plan of extending the benefit to indigent families.
The said program is in line with President Benigno Aquino III's aim to give every Filipino ample health care services. — ARA
