The Department of Justice (DOJ) fact finding panel in the 3-day investigation on the special treatment given to Former Governor Jose Antonio Leviste in New Bilibid Prison will give its recommendation to President Benigno Aquino III Monday afternoon.
According to Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, aside from the recommendation of the five-member panel, she also made her own recommendation regarding the analysis of the said incident.
Aside from the criminal charges filed against Leviste's special treatment, De Lima assured that there will be new changes in the system of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
She said that the president is waiting for their copy of results, since Aquino is going to Brunei on Wednesday and he wants to quickly act on it before he leaves.
Meanwhile, the officials and officers of the BuCor involved in the said incident will be facing administrative cases. — ARA
