Alay Lakad Foundation schedules next walk on Sept 2

The Alay Lakad Foundation, Inc. has scheduled this year's walk for a cause on September 2 at 6 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park.

ALFI's walk for a cause activity aims to raise funds for the education and livelihood opportunities for the out-of-school youth.

Supporting the activity are civic organizations, Kiwanis, Junior Chamber International and Lions and Rotary Clubs.

Moreover, in celebration ALFI's 40th founding anniversary, a memorandum of agreement was signed between ALFI and Polytechnic University of the Philippines to provide educational assistance worth Php 100,000 to underprivileged but deserving students.

ALFI has granted scholarship for four-year program to 10 students from the PUP beginning this academic year. Each grantee is provided Php 10,000 per semester as allowance for tuition fee, books, and miscellaneous expenses.

The average grade requirement that grantees must maintain is 2.5.

The institution shall have to submit reports to ALFI toward the end of semester for the academic performance of the students and summary of expenses incurred for monitoring purposes. - PIA — ARA
