The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is planning to impose a 20 percent tax on the jackpot price of 6/55 Grand lotto.
PCSO chairperson Margie Juico said that the proposal is reasonable. They will have a meeting with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regarding the tax proposal.
According to Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda, the president also proposed for the taxation of prizes.
The grand lotto prize is expected to reach PhP280 million which depending on ticket sales. — ARA
