Eloisa Cruz Canlas, better known as "Lola Sela Bungangera" a veteran radio voice talent passed away Sunday dawn.
According to a co-radio talent, Rose Barin, the 70-years old radio icon has just been released from St. Lukes Quezon City, weeks before she died.
November 2011, Lola Sela was hit by a speeding taxi passing by EDSA in front of UNTV along Quezon City, causing her to be in a long-term state of coma.
St. Lukes permitted Canlas' release from the hospital after ensuring her physical health is stable, though speech, body movement and general consciousness were never recovered after the hospitalization.
Her remains lie at the Holy Spirit chapel in Parañaque City and is available for viewing until the cremation rites, Wednesday.
Lola Sela was the 2011 UP Gawad Plaridel awardee for outstanding contributions to the broadcasting industry, particularly in the field of radio broadcast. — ARA
