SWI training held in Parañaque

The Dept. of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region, in cooperation of the Parañaque City Government conducted a one day-training for 60 enumerators/validators on July 06, 2012 at the Parañaque Sports Complex in Brgy. San Antonio, this City.

Coordinating with the DSWD-NCR are the Parañaque DSWD headed by Mr. Dean Calleja and the City Secretariat under Ms. Liberty Florendo. The orientation centered on the use of the Social Welfare Indicator, a standard DSWD tool for gathering data for the implementation of government social welfare programs like the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.

The first part of the training focused on the background, features and purpose of the SWI. The second part revolved around the SWI tool administration, field work and interview mechanics and scoring and assessment of level of well-being of 4P beneficiaries.

"The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program has contributed greatly to improving the lives of the marginal sector of the country, among them the urban poor of Parañaque. The SWI training will render social welfare programs more effective for the greater benefit of the constituents.", Mayor Jun Bernabe said.
