The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has raised Catanduanes to signal no. 2.
Meanwhile, signal no. 1 has been raised at Sorsogon, Burias Island, Ticao Island, Albay, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte, as well as the Samar provinces in the Visayas.
According to PAGASA, Signal No. 2 have 60 to 100 kph winds; Signal No. 1 has 45 to 60 kps winds.
As of 10 p.m., PAGASA has estimated "Chedeng" to be 420 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar with maximum sustained winds of up to 115 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph.
"Chedeng" is moving West Northwest at 17kph.
The typhoon is expected to be 150 km North of Virac, Catanduanes by Wednesday evening, and within the vicinity of Isabela, Cagayan by Thursday evening.
PAGASA is still reminding residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal nos. 2 and 1 to be alert against possible flashfloods and landslides. Those living in the coastal areas are also alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by the tropical cyclone. — DBL
