The provincial government has distributed water pumps and grass cutters to 710 barangays in Pangasinan.
Governor Amado Espino, Jr. said the equipment will boost agricultural productivity. He said this will also help clear waterways, which may reduce dengue cases in the area.
Water pumps and grass cutters will be distributed to all 1,364 barangays of the province.
The program started last year.
Last June 26, each barangay in the towns of Bayambang, Malasiqui, Mangaldan and Mapandan obtained one unit of water pump and one unit of grass cutter complete with accessories.
Vice-Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim, Jr. said, the project may be simple but its purpose has a big impact both for agriculture and the environment.
In the following months, LGUs here will be provided with office furniture such as monoblock chairs and air condition units for the barangay halls, Calimlim said.
With all this support, the barangay officials vowed to work hard for further development of the province. -
