The Department of Agriculture region 2 is constructing an integrated agricultural laboratory for various testing services in Cagayan province.
Hector Tabbun, agricultural communication officer, said the laboratory which is situated at the laboratory compound of DA at the Regional Government Center, Carig this city, is a three-storey building worth Php 73.5 million.
He said the services to be offered are laboratory services for soil testing, plant pathology analysis, plant toxicology analysis, feed quality analysis, animal disease and diagnostic, and milk and meat analysis.
Tabbun further stated that the laboratory will help not only the farmers of Cagayan Valley but also those needing its services; it will examine quality of agricultural products to avoid any diseases which might infect the human and animal health.
The project was also inspected by agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala who further monitored agricultural productions of Cagayan Valley.
Alcala, during his visit in the region, said Cagayan Valley has big potential lands to be converted into plantations as additional inputs in the country's agricultural productions. -
