Land Transportation Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas II guaranteed Thursday that the chaos being experienced by drivers renewing licenses will be resolved this week.
The chaos was brought about by the new system of license renewal which resulted to slower processing of papers and longer lines of confused and ranting renewing applicants.
Roxas said in an interview that he ordered the Land Transportation Office and the Department of Transportation and Communications to renew driver's licenses using the agency's old design and features.
He said, "Unit-unting naibabalik sa normal [ang opearsyon sa LTO], dahil iyong dating design...muna ang ginagamit ngayon."
Meanwhile, the LTO has ordered Amalgamated Motor Philippines Inc. for the new lay-out of the driver's license; however, a new issue has been raised up because the AMP Inc. changed the license's original design without informing LTO. — ARA
