Suspected to be carrying packets of illegal drugs, a man was shot dead by still unknown gunmen in Quezon City Wednesday evening.
After a woman in the neighborhood heard gunshots, Samuel Fontivores, 40, was found lying on Florentino Street in Barangay Gulod, Novaliches.
The policemen were told by the woman that she was inside her home at around 11 p.m. when she heard the shots from outside.
She added that she saw the victim already lifeless from several gunshots in his body when she came out to investigate.
Police said the victim's pocket is affirmative on having a sachet of suspected "shabu". Investigators also found five empty 9 mm shells, a slug and a kitchen knife abandoned close to the victim's corpse.
Meanwhile, another body, whose face was wrapped with masking tape and back suffered from stabs, was found along Maximo Viola Street in Barangay Balingasa more than an hour later at 12:45 a.m. the following day.
The victim, Jonel Mamarinta, 21, was identified by his mother. The police are still investigating on the possible cause of both brutal killings in the area. -GIAN — ARA
