Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim received 89 boxes of medicines for the city's six public hospitals, from Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation through its caravan operations officer, Danilo Ramos after the flag raising ceremony this morning.
"Two weeks ago nag-request ako ng gamot sa PAGCOR para sa ating anim na hospital, at nagkataon na ito palang Caravan Operation Program ng PAGCOR ay umiikot sa buong bansa para magbigay ng gamot, at ito ang kinalabasan ng pakiusap ko. Kaya magpasalamat tayo sa PAGCOR para sa 89 boxes na gamot na ibinigay nila," Mayor Lim said.
Medicines such as Amoxicillin (capsule), Amoxicillin Suspension, Cotrimoxasole, Paracetamol and Salbutamol Syrup were distributed equally among the six public hospitals of Manila .
Mayor Lim is thankful that PAGCOR, one of the implementing agencies of national government programs, helps local government units like the City of Manila in alleviating poverty.
Also this morning, Mayor Lim thanked members of the Manila Friendship Lions Club for their donation of 1,500 bags of 3 kilos rice; and the LP-KKK Barangay Chairmen for their donation of 1,500 bags of groceries for Isla Putting Bato fire victims.
Chief of Staff and Media Bureau Chief Ricardo "Ric" De Guzman, Councilors Josie Siscar, Lou Veloso, Joey Uy, LP-KKK Barangay coordinators Thelma Lim, Ligaya Santos, Silvestre "Boy" Dumagat, Erwin Billanes, Ben Kalalo, Guia Castro, Barangay Chairman Anthony Gonzales, , directors of city-run hospitals, city department heads and employees witnessed the turn-over of donations. -
