'Dirty' ice cream turns down 52 in Bataan

After eating 'dirty ice cream' from an unaccredited dealer, 44 children and 8 adults were rushed to the hospital in Balanga City, Bataan on Wednesday.

National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported the victims were participants of "Brigada Eskwela" of the Department of Education.

After receiving a report that people are showing signs and symptoms of food poisoning, Engr. Dennis Mariano headed the Balanga Rescue Team to rush to barangays Cabog and Tonato.

Victims were immediately brought to the Bataan General Hospital for medication.

Local police are still conducting investigation on the incident.

Meanwhile, 26 Sangguniang Kabataan chairmen from Metro and Bulacan and Baguio City were also hospitalized the other day after they were poisoned by the food they took the night before in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The NDRRMC reported that the victims suffered from severe stomachache, loose stools, and vomiting the night before they were rushed to the Palawan Adventist Hospital. -GIAN — ARA
