Corona's trial will be like watching Pacquiao's fight

House Representative Minority leader Danilo Suarez is very glad to know that Chief Justice Renato Corona decided to bear witness at the Senate impeachment trial.

According to Suarez, CJ's statement will clear the way for a final judgment in the trial before Congress ends on June 7.

Suarez said, "Everything hangs on his appearance. Pagkatapos magtestify ni Chief Justice tapos na yan. The hearing next week will be very interesting, should be as interesting as Pacquiao-Bradley fight but for us within the minority we have our sympathy to the Chief Justice."

He said that the Ombudsman's inquiry on Corona's supposed $10 million must be directly uncovered for the political harassment that it truthfully is.

The Minority leader added that they are applaud by the Chief Justice's offer to face his accusers in person, although he is under no legal obligation to do so-in the interest of ferreting out the truth and clearing his good name.

CJ's alarming statement goes after the Ombudsman sent a memo to Corona asking him to clarify allegations that he owns $10 million in separate bank accounts.

Suarez said Corona was requested to respond to these allegations before the impeachment court instead in a public arena. — ARA
