Carandag: actions being taken to resolve traffic problem

Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Secretary Ricky Carandang disclosed the actions being taken by the government to progress the traffic condition in Metro Manila.

Carandag said that he does drive and he is aware that Metro Manila traffic terrible and something must be done to address it, actions that are in response to CNNGo's standing of the Philippines as world's third worst city for driving.

Manila ranked 3rd in the survey for the 10 worst cities in the world for driving according to the travel website of the Cable News Network.

Carandag said that the administration is doing progress with the road infrastructures and that enhanced enforcement of traffic regulations and control among drivers would be solution to better the traffic condition in Metro Manila.

He said that they believe that improving the road infrastructure in Metro Manila will eventually improve the traffic. They also think that better enforcement by the MMDA, let's say of kotong cops, colorum buses and jeeps will also lead to an improvement in the traffic situation.

Carandag added that drivers should also apply extra discipline in the road, as he included himself. — ARA
