White House alarmed over online piracy bills

The administration of Barack Obama hoisted worries Saturday regarding efforts in the parliament that it said would undermine "the dynamic, innovative global internet," advising representatives of each district to approve measures this year that will balance the need to fight piracy and forging over the internet.

White house representative said in a blog that it would not bear any awaiting legislation that reduces freedom of speech, but increases cyber security risk or weakens the global internet, threatening the measure that could dishearten innovation and other startup business.

"Any effort to combat online piracy must guard against the risk of online censorship of lawful activity and must not inhibit innovation by our dynamic businesses large and small," as told by the White House.

The government was responding to measures that would allow the Judiciary to target any offshore websites- through Internet service sources that offer copies of music, movies, and television shows on the web that is against the law.

The Senate committee is likely to regard as similar legislation soon this month.

Well known companies such as Google, Facebook, Yahoo and other corporations have questioned the legislation, in a November 15 letter that would force latest liabilities and commands on upright technology companies and require them to monitor websites.

"We are concerned that these measures pose a serious risk to our industry's continued track record of innovation and job- creation, as well as to our nation's cybersecurity," the letter acknowledged.

The White house added in the blog on Saturday with the purpose of the effort with the Congress on legislation to help fight piracy and counterfeiting while shielding free expression, privacy, security and innovation through the Web.

The post was signed by the Intellectual property Enforcement Coordinator Victoria Espinel, at the Office of Management and Budget while Aneesh Chopra, the country's chief technology officer and Howard Schmidt, and Obama adviser on cybersecurity.
