Preliminary outcome of Arroyo's case to be known today

The preliminary outcome of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's cases against her will be identified on Monday.

Arroyo's cases will be shuffle off using marbles with the numbers one to five which symbolizes each of the five Divisions of the Sandiganbayan, which will decide where each will land.

Sandiganbayan executive clerk of court and spokesman Renato Bocar said Presiding Justice Francisco Villaruz said that if it is a number 3, for example, the first case on the list of cases being raffled goes to the 3rd Division while the 2nd case on the list is automatically assigned to the 4th and so forth and so on.

Villaruz said that Arroyo is facing three cases for her suspected position in the failed national broadband network deal among China's ZTE Corp. four years ago.

The following were also involved in the second case, former first gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo, former elections chief Benjamin Abalos Sr., and former Transportation and Communications Secretary Leandro Mendoza.

According to a liable source from Office of the Special Prosecutor, Associate Justice Efren de la Cruz the one who will handle the first division on Arroyo's case, said, "De la Cruz is reputed to be honest because he is a religious man." -PIA — ARA
