Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's transfer from St. Lukes Medical Center - Global City to Veterans Memorial Medical Center - Quezon City was delayed due to bad weather.
Deputy regional director for administration of Metro Manila police, Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel said, "The convoy is ready. We are just waiting for the weather to clear."
Laurel said that there are eight vehicles in addition to the four-motorcycle convoy that will transfer Mrs. Arroyo to the VMMC. However, he did not specify the vehicle the former president will be using during the actual transfer.
Meanwhile, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo said, "Very likely if the weather permits it will be by air. For security reasons, it's easier to manage."
Robredo said, "If it's not possible, we will do by land. The deadline is today."
On the other hand, lawyer Lawrence Arroyo said, "The president has experienced helicopter crashes before so there is that fear in her about riding in bad weather. She has trauma especially now with the bad weather."
The Supreme Court has recently ordered Arroyo's hospital arrest due to six plunder complaints filed against her. — ARA
