Daang Hari – SLEX PPP project set for bidding

The Department of Public Works and Highways is set to receive the bids for the proposed Daang Hari-South Luzon Expressway Link Road Public-Private Partnership project at the DPWH Central Office on December 12, 2011.

Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that only prospective bidders who were first prequalified based on minimum legal, technical, and financial requirements set by DPWH are invited to bid for the project. "The P1.956 billion-worth project will be awarded to a prequalified bidder through competitive public bidding following the rules and procedures prescribed under the BOT Law," said Singson.

The Daang Hari-SLEX Link Road Project involves the construction of a new four-kilometer, four-lane toll road, from the junction of Daang Reyna and Daang Hari in Las Piñas/Bacoor, Cavite to SLEX through the vicinity of Susana Heights Interchange in Muntinlupa, as exit and entry from the northbound and southbound lanes of SLEX, traversing the New Bilibid Prison Reservation.

The project will complement the Cavite-Laguna-East-West Highway and will provide additional access for the increasing traffic between the cities of Las Piñas and Muntinlupa and the province of Cavite, which is one of the most rapidly growing areas around Metro Manila," added Singson.

The project is a strategic component of the Metro Manila Urban Expressway Network Master Plan intended to provide a high-standard highway within a 200 kilometer radius of Metro Manila.

The Daang Hari – SLEX Link Road project is one of the priority projects of the national government under its PPP program.-PIA — ARA
