Australia aids RP in fighting against Human Trafficking

The Department of Interior and Local Government announced Sunday that the Australian Government donated more than one Million pesos worth of equipment, which is aimed at helping the Philippine Government fight human trafficking.
The said equipment are worth AU$ 32,052, amounting to around P 1,462,532.76 when converted to Philippine pesos. The equipment were entrusted to the Asia Regional Trafficking in Persons Project, an initiative funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), to assist the government addressing issues of Trafficking in Persons (TIP).
According to DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo, the equipment consist of 9 desktop computers, 10 laptop computers, 8 multi-media projectors, 7 printers, 7 digital cameras, 7 video cameras and 9 voice recorders.
The DILG chief said in a statement that the grant would really help the involved government agencies in converging information necessary in their investigations, as well as the recording of interviews, and compilation of data possibly needed for future references. — CCSD
