The Aquino Administration is pleading the Church to calm down with regards to the controversial issue of the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill.
It was last week when the Church warned Malacanang that they will perform civil disobedience by not paying taxes to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said in an interview that, "It would be better if we all calm down, and peacefully discuss the issue at hand".
According to Valte, the President reminded that it is a citizen's civil duty to pay taxes; and those who refuse, will be put into jail.
Meanwhile, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) replied that they are not afraid to be filed with criminal charges as long as they do what is morally right. — ARA
