Arroyo's doctors to testify on court

The Pasay City regional trial court issued a subpoena to the three doctors of Former President three doctors Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo that requires them to attend the hearing on Friday as well as to testify on the health condition of their patient.

Linda Friginal, a staff of the Pasay City RTC branch 112 said, "The hospital arrest order of Judge (Jesus) Mupas is only temporary."

On November 18, Judge Mupas had issued warrant of arrest against Arroyo, following the electoral sabotage filed by the Commission on Elections.

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said, "We will be surprised if the camp of former President Arroyo will not allow her doctors to testify – that's when we will be doubtful. And the doctors of former President Arroyo have said they were willing to testify,and we certainly welcome that statement by the doctors."

On the other hand, Health Secretary Enrique Ona said, "The doctors have to discuss with the patient what they would say before coming out with a medical bulletin or testimony because there is a doctor and patient confidentiality to observe."

Ona said, "We have been hearing so much from the lawyers so it would be better if we would hear the doctors to be talking para walang sari-sariling interpretasyon (so there will not be different interpretations)."

Senior Superintendent Herminigilda Salangad, a doctor and chief of the NCRPO-HS said in a statement, "The overall assessment of CGMA's (Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo) present medical status has significantly improved except for the complaints of pain on low back, left knee, weakness of both feet and weak neck." — ARA
