PUJ franchise holders can get their Pantawid Pasada Cards until November 30

In an effort to cushion the impact of high fuel prices, particularly for public utility jeepneys, the Department of Energy, Chair of the Inter-agency Energy Contingency Committee, urges all PUJ franchise holders with valid registrations to claim their Pantawid Pasada Cards on or before November 30, 2011.

The DOE stressed that failure of the intended beneficiaries to claim their cards by the said date is presumed a waiver of their claims to the cards and to the enjoyment of the corresponding entitlements.

For the PUJ franchise holders in the National Capital Region, the cards may be claimed at the DOE office, Energy Center, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. Franchise holders in the provinces, meanwhile, can claim their cards at the nearest Regional and District offices of the Land Transportation Office.

The Pantawid Pasada Cards, as the DOE stressed, are given out to legitimate beneficiaries and at no cost.

To be able to claim the Cards, intended beneficiaries are reminded to bring the ff: original and a photocopy of the current Confirmation Certificate from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. If the said document is not available, the beneficiaries are required to bring a photocopy of the following documents: a) Certificate of Public Convenience (Decision/Order); b) Official Receipt (OR) of LTO Registration (this should be valid from April 2010 until March 2011) and Certificate of Vehicle Registration (CR); and c) at least one government-issued photo-ID. Those who will claim the cards are also required to present the original of the aforementioned documents for verification purposes. The DOE will not issue cards to those who fail to submit the required documents.

If the operator is unable to claim his/her Card(s), his/her representative should be able to show proof that he/she is authorized to claim the Pantawid Pasada Card by presenting an authorization letter (original and copy for submission).

PUJ drivers or their representatives can check if their plate numbers are listed in the Pantawid Pasada Program database at www.doe.gov.ph/ptap. Legitimate franchise holders whose names and/or vehicle plate numbers are not found in the database are advised to inform the DOE.
