To strengthen linkages in MSME (micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs) and tourism sectors between and among Regions 7,8, 10, 11, and Palawan, the Department of Trade & Industry will sponsor a one-day a pro-active market development strategy forum called LInCs or Leveraging Industries Supply Chain.
The activity is scheduled on November 7 at the Bulwagang Princesa Inn to be participated by the tourism industry leaders and the leaders in the micro,small,medium enterprises sectors in Regions 7, 8, 10, 11, and Palawan.
LInCs is in response to the call for collaboration as embodied in the Memorandum of Agreement signed between DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo and former DOT Secretary Alberto Lim.
In the MOA, the two departments agree to closely coordinate with each other in the comprehensive development of the tourism sector, including promotion of the main tourism value chains and the strengthening of various supply chains providing support to the tourism sector.
Regional directors of the DTI and the DOT in Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Mindanao, and Davao Region are expected to participate in this forum; resource persons come from the GIZ-PSP (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit Private Sector Promotion).
The forum will also include an orientation on Tindahang Pinoy, the standardization of all souvenir shops or pasalubong centers all over the country. -
