Here in the Philippines, people who love to surf go to Siargao. Those who like diving go to Coron, Palawan. And those who like to fly? Well, they can go to Iba, Zambales!

Cessna plane on Touch and Go!
Many foreigners who want to learn how to fly an airplane hone their skills in this town. And based on what I have learned lately, Pakistanis love flying planes here.
Iba became very famous in the early 90's because of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption. There was already an existing airport back then but it was an inactive landing strip. Not anymore.
Notice the planes inside the hangar to the right of that aircraft which is about to touch down? There are more of those small planes in another hangar in this airport - and they are always buzzing the runway like busy bees!
Moreover, flying is not the only thing their visitors can do once they get there. The place was actually known for its beaches. It is not like Boracay but they have just recently discovered Potipot Island which has white sand beaches like Bora and word has it that it is worth taking a peek.
Check out this Australian guy (in the picture below) who is trying to surf in the waters of the beach no more than 500 meters from the airport.
So for your next vacation destination, visit Iba, Zambales! And discover what more this province has to offer.
