DOLE releases Q4 job fair schedule

Jobseekers need not go to Manila or any urban centers to look for jobs. All they need is a little finger flexing on the internet to know what's going on in the labor sector and what jobs could be had.

The Department of Labor and Employment has released the tentative schedules of the fourth quarter job fair courtesy of various DOLE regional offices and Public Employment Service Offices in collaboration with the tripartite and private sectors nationwide.

In a news release posted on the DOLE website, Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz advises jobseekers to browse the Phil-Jobnet system for job fair schedules that may speed up their search for productive jobs.

Phil-jobnet is accessible 24/7 in the Internet through http://phil.job-net.

According to Maria Criselda Sy, DOLE's Bureau of Local Employmnet director, the agency is making the schedule available to a wider range, and for this purpose, they encourage graduates and other jobseekers, as well as employers, to visit the Phil-JobNet for their job and skills matching needs.

Sy said that tentative schedules and venues of the local/overseas job fairs for the 4th quarter of 2011 under the auspices of the DOLE ROs and PESOs in collaboration with the tripartite and private sector partners in various regions of the country are included in the schedules that follow below.

For October 2011: Region 4B (MIMAROPA)--- Region 6 (Western Visayas)---October 14 (Friday), Passi City Covered Gym, Passi City, Iloilo; and earlier on October 7 at Amigo Plaza Mall, Iznart Street, Iloilo City (in partnership with ABS-CBN). October 15 (Saturday), Victoria Municipal Gymnasium, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro; Region 5 (Bicol)---October (date tentative), Virac Sports Complex, Virac, Catandues; Region 6 (Western Visayas)---October 14 (Friday), Passi City Covered Gym, Passi City, Iloilo; and earlier on October 7 at Amigo Plaza Mall, Iznart Street, Iloilo City courtesy of the PESO-Iloilo City in partnership with ABS-CBN; Region 8 (Eastern Visayas)--- 2nd week of October, Naval State University, Naval, Biliran, Leyte; and, Region 10 (Northern Mindanao)---October 20 to 21 (Thursday to Friday), Mambajao Gym, Camiguin.
