Himamaylan community forms anti-illegal logging task force

The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office formed a local version of the Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force and Regional Task Force in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental pursuant to Executive Order Number 23.

The Task Force is in accordance with the directive from the DENR Regional Office.

CENRO Edgar Rostata offered the salient features of Executive Order No. 23 including the resolutions approved by the AILTF as basis and reference for the creation of the local task force.

Lieutenant Colonel Ramil M. Bitong of the 11th IB, Philippine Army committed to support the operations of the task force.

According to the release from CENRO, a memorandum of contract was signed on April 12, 2011 at Camp Delgado, Iloilo City by regional heads of the DENR, Department of Interior and Local Government, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine National Police stipulating their duties and
responsibilities in the task force.

This local task force is led by the CENR officer, with ENRO as the vice chair with members from the PNP, AFP, five barangay captains, and trained and Deputized Environment and Natural Resources officers from the city of Himamaylan. — ARA
